The Drop Bolt is a simple device used for holding open or closed a door or gate. A Steel bolt can be locked in place with a padlock. The bolt is used to hold a movable flap in place.
It normally comes in two parts, a body or pad with a bolt or rod with a bent end passing through it and a plate with a corresponding shape to the bolt. The pad part is fitted to a convenient part of the gate or post and the small retainer to the mating fitting.
